ISLAMABAD: (APP) The federal government is considering to formulate a women model welfare package for empowering women, socially and economically.
The annual plan 2016-17, released by the government revealed that promotion of women entrepreneurship will be encouraged in the country.
The annual plan also envisages preparation of a framework for equitable development of women across the country and guidelines for preparation of policies, action plans and interventions by the stakeholders.
The initiatives would address the issues of gender mainstreaming, through development of gender sensitive need-based projects, integration of gender dimensions into all sectors of economy.
A women right based approach would be introduced to develop women's economic, social and development rights and entitlements, sensitization on gender issues to ensure implementation and review of policies and plans.
The plan further included strengthening of support mechanism for women survivor of violence and in distress, creation of gender based knowledge through research and gender disaggregated data (including third gender).
The government also plans to ensure daycare facilities for infants and children of working women in all establishments to keep working mothers comfortable and provide a woman friendly workplace environment for them.
