ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Wednesday granted time to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP)’s counsel for case preparation regarding registration of Milli Muslim League (MML) as political party and adjourned the case till February 20.
During hearing, Justice Aamer Farooq hearing the plea observed that the ECP had made the registration matter of MML more complex.
At this the counsel of ECP pleaded before the bench that the electoral body was waiting for MML’s clearance from Ministry of Interior. He also requested the court to grant some more time for case preparation.
Earlier, the petitioner’s counsel Rizwan Abbasi Advocate argued before the court that the ECP was not registering MML despite the IHC orders. His client party had completed all required formalities for registration.
The bench, however, adjourned hearing of the case till February 20.
