Names of 26 civil officers likely to be promoted to grade 22 in High Powered Selection Board

The Central Selection Board (CSB) has completed its preparation for the promotion of bureaucrats in BS-22.

According to the sources, a meeting of the high-powered selection board (HPSB) under the chairmanship of the prime minister is expected to be held next week to consider the cases of officers of different cadres now working in grade 21 for their promotion to grade 22.

The HPSB of the Establishment Division is likely to consider at least 26 officers including Additional Secretary in-charge Capt (r) Muhammad Mahmood, Additional Secretary in-charge Power Division Rashid Mahmood Langrial, Chairman NHA Momin Agha, acting Chief Secretary Punjab Muhammad Abdullah Khan Sumbal, CS Gilgit Baltistan Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, Muhammad Mujtaba Piracha and others in HPSB meeting.

In the HPSB, nine officers will be considered for the promotion in BS-22 belong to the Pakistan Administrative Service, two to the Police Service of Pakistan, five officers to the Foreign Service, two to the Pakistan Customs, two to the Postal Group, one to the Pakistan Railways, one each to the Inland Revenue Service, Secretariat Group and Audit and Accounts Service.

IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon, Amir Zulfiqar Khan, Ghulam Rasool Zahid, Kunwar Shah Rukh and Aamir Ahmed Shaikh of the Police Service will be considered for promotion to BS-22, sources added.

It is pertinent that this will be the second HPSB in one year as the prime minister had in May this year promoted to BS 22 several officers including SPM Dr Touqeer Shah, Secretary Finance Hamid Yaqoob Shiekh, Special Secretary Cabinet Division Aizaz Aslam Dar, Special Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office Sara Saeed, Secretary Industries Imdad Bosal and others.
