Supreme Court of Pakistan grills NAB over its performance

Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) has raised questions overthe performance of National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

According to details, while hearing bail pleas of Dr. Dinsha and JameelBaloch in the fake bank accounts case, SC remarked that there is no oneother than NAB chairman who praises the accountability bureau.

During the proceedings, Justice Umar Ata Bandial remarked that the court isnot satisfied with the performance of NAB in the present case.

“An elderly person like Dr. Dinsha has been in jail for 20 months, while 27others are roaming around free. This actually shows the impartial attitudeof NAB,” he said.

Justice Umar Bandial further said that people will not invest in Pakistanbecause of the anti-corruption watchdog.

“The process of accountability and rule of law in Japan is an example forus,” he added.

Talking to NAB prosecutor, Justice Umar Ata Bandial said that everyoneknows where all the finances of Sindh are going.

“Those holding public office should be held accountable in all cases, butunfortunately NAB is not applying its law equally for everyone,” he said.
