Positive reports over Pakistan’s economic development despite challenges

The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) in its report noted that thoughPakistan is confronted with different challenges on the internal andexternal fronts, the country’s economic condition is improving steadily.

Despite facing political instability, Pakistan has always stood firm in thecomity of nations with its high status earned through its relentlessresilience and adaptability to all odds and ordeals.

The visible growth in various sectors will soon bring the day very closewhen Pakistan will be considered at the top of the list of developedcountries. Though Pakistan is confronted with different challenges on theinternal and external fronts, the country’s economic condition is improvingsteadily.

Dr. Bandar Hajjar, President of IsDB Group and Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar,Minister for Economic Affairs co-chaired the online launch of the report on“Mapping Pakistan’s Resource Centres”.

This report focuses on four key sectors of the economy which are as follows:

– Agriculture – Agro-based industry – Pharmaceutical Industry – Information Communication Technology.

The profiles of sixteen Pakistani institutions– referred to as ResourceCentres- that have excellence in the respective field and developedreliable technologies have been published which can be shared by othermember countries.

Pakistan believes in peaceful coexistence and desires peace and tranquilityin the whole world and this is what the country has been focusing on in itsdiplomatic endeavors while countering conspiracies being hatched by enemiesto isolate Pakistan.

The political and military leadership, economic troubleshooters, clericsand scholars, and the nation at large are committed to make Pakistan aprosperous and developed country

According to the report, the recent global food crisis, while creatingdifficulties for net food-importing countries, is equally providingopportunities for developing countries like Pakistan to focus and benefitfrom the current situation by giving more serious attention toagriculture-based industries.

In this scenario, Pakistan is changing its policy-orientation towards yieldenhancement and addressing structural issues such as improving poor cropmanagement skills of farmers; provision of affordable inputs like qualityseeds; improvement in agriculture infrastructure; reducing post-harvestlosses; developing value chains; narrowing gap between research and itspractical applications; and provision of adequate funding for research anddevelopment activities.
