LAHORE – The Lahore High Court (LHC) has on Thursday ordered the NationalAccountability Bureau (NAB) to complete investigation against Chaudhrybrothers pertaining to assets beyond means within four weeks.
The LHC conducted hearing on Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) PresidentChaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry PervaizElahi’s petition challenging the NAB chairman’s authority.
NAB Lahore DG Shahzad Saleem told the court that the case against Chaudhrybrothers regarding illegal appointments has been closed but the assetsbeyond means case is still pending. He said the investigation will becompleted within six months.
Justice Sadaqat Ali remarked that how the anti-corruption watchdog canstart investigation against someone who has already declared their assets.The court then ordered the anti-graft body to complete investigation ofChaudhrys’ assets within four weeks.
