WASHINGTON – The United States has responded over the peace initiative fromPakistan over Afghanistan war.

US has welcomed actions Pakistan is taking to promote a negotiated solutionto the war in neighboring Afghanistan.

“The United States welcomes any actions by the Pakistani government topromote greater cooperation, including fostering negotiations between theTaliban, the Afghan government, and other Afghans,” a U.S. embassyspokesperson in Kabul told VOA.

U.S. special representative for Afghanistan reconciliation, ZalmayKhalilzad, has met, and will continue to meet, with all interested parties,including the Taliban, to support a negotiated settlement to the conflictin Afghanistan, the spokesperson added.
