NEW DELHI – In Indian, the Delhi High Court has sentenced a senior Congressparty politician,Sajjan Kumar to jail for life after he was convicted forinciting crowds to kill Sikhs during anti-Sikh riots in1984.

The court found Sajjan Kumar guilty of criminal conspiracy, promotingenmity and acts against communal harmony.

More than 3,000 Sikhs had died in the riots in 1984 that followed theassassination of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
