ISLAMABAD – Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information andBroadcasting says the health of Nawaz Sharif is a humanitarian matter andit should not be made political and legal issue.
Addressing a news conference along with Attorney General Anwar Mansoor Khanin Islamabad tonight, she said Prime Minister Imran Khan created thefacility of medical board for Nawaz Sharif with sincerity.
She said the Prime Minister directed the spokesmen of the government not togive any political statement on the health of Nawaz Sharif. Governmentfacilitated Nawaz Sharif at every level.
Speaking on the occasion, Attorney General said some legal points involvedin this issue are crucial.
He said NAB law clearly states that sentence of a convict could not besuspended or bailed. He said when the issue came into the court, thefederal government said there should be surety or indemnity for goingabroad. He said unfortunately Nawaz Sharif has a precedent of not abidingby the undertakings he made in the past.
He said the court has not rejected the government’s position on indemnitybond.
Earlier, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information Dr FirdousAshis Awan government respects the court decisions in letter and spirit.Talking to a private TV Channel tonight, she said the government never didpolitics regarding health of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. She saidthe court gave relief to an ailing person, and not PML-N.
Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said the govenrment will give any response after thecourt issued its detailed verdict on the matter.
Meanwhile, talking to a private TV channel, Attorney General Anwar MansoorKhan says Nawaz Sharif can proceed abroad by showing the attested copy ofcourt order to immigration authorities.
He said the extension in permission can be granted on various conditions.Hesaid court will be contacted for extension in permission.
Similarly, extension in stay abroad can also be obtained on submitting themoney or bond.
Anwar Mansoor said he will only be in a position to advise the governmentafter seeing the written verdict.
