ROME – Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa (COAS) has mulledoption of Joint defence production with the Italian defence leadership.
He visited Italy and called on Italian Defence Minister, Chief of ItalianArmy and the Secretary General of Defence.
Discussions focused on enhancing bilateral defence and securitycooperation, including potential joint initiatives.
The Italian leadership was highly appreciative of the role played byPakistan in regional stability and also towards global security. Theymaintained that Pakistan is well on its way towards a prosperous future andthat Italy and Pakistan will benefit by building on the existingrelationship between the two countries.

Asked about the success formula in the war against terrorism, Chief of ArmyStaff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa said that it was due to the spirit of sacrificeand support of the nation, especially the people of tribal areas and thefamilies of Shuhadas and Ghazis.
