Pakistani Fast bowler Hassan Ali considering early retirement?

Hassan Ali, the Pakistani fast bowler, was taken aback when a Pakistanicricket enthusiast proposed his retirement from white-ball cricket onsocial media last Sunday. The request came through the social mediaplatform X (formerly known as Twitter), with the user arguing that ArshadIqbal should replace Hassan due to Naseem Shah’s injury for the upcomingICC World Cup 2023 next month.

The user’s post conveyed the opinion that Hassan tends to assist opposingbatsmen in settling on the crease, which could potentially lead toembarrassment in another World Cup.

The tweet ended with an appeal to Hasan Ali, urging him to “announceretirement from white-ball cricket” to avoid such humiliation. “Look at theextra bounce he [Arshad Iqbal] gets, hardly bowls bad balls, and makesbatsmen work hard for runs. Hasan is mainly there to help batsmen get seton the crease.

Please @RealHa55an, announce retirement from white-ball cricket; we don’twant to face embarrassment in another World Cup,” tweeted a user on X.

In response, Hasan Ali acknowledged Arshad Iqbal’s talent but expressedsurprise at the suggestion that he should retire at the relatively youngage of 29.
