Namira Salim, First Pakistani female Astronaut to leave for historic space mission

The first Pakistani astronaut, Namira Salim, is fully prepared to embark onher space journey this year, as she has already secured her spot as SpaceTraveler Number 6, thanks to her earlier record-breaking achievementthrough Virgin Galactic. It is expected that her upcoming space missionwill receive wide acclaim.

Namira Salim is the first Pakistani to travel to space, and VirginGalactic’s founder, Richard Branson, nominated her for the November 29,2022, seat. Her first opportunity for space travel will be provided throughVirgin Galactic’s SpaceShipOne-9.

Virgin Galactic Holdings officially announced that their mission willcommence on October 5, 2023. The mission will include three privateastronauts who are united by their passion for space exploration and willcontribute to the project by incorporating diverse perspectives andcultures.

One of the astronauts, nominated as Astronaut 017, hails from the UnitedStates, while another astronaut, designated as 018, is from the UnitedKingdom. Finally, Astronaut 019 represents Pakistan in this remarkablemission.

Namira Salim, with connections to a well-established Pakistani familyresiding in southern France, is the first Pakistani to embark on a journeyto space. In 2006, she was officially recognized by the government ofPakistan as the “First Pakistani Astronautn.
