Pak Vs Srilanka series: Importnat development reported from ICC

DUBAI – Over the Pakistan Vs Srilanka series, Importnat developmentreported from the International Cricket Council (ICC).

ICC is set to review the security arrangements in Pakistan for the SriLanka tour while Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) are going ahead with theirplans to stage the limited overs series against Sri Lanka in Lahore andKarachi this month-end and announced 20 probables for the training campahead of the series.

Uncertainty over the series being held in Pakistan prevails following theSri Lanka Prime Minister’s Office receiving information of a possibleterrorist threat to their team while touring Pakistan.

The ICC is exploring the possibilities of appointing neutral matchofficials for the Pakistan-Sri Lanka series — resulting in the visit. WhenPakistan hosted Zimbabwe in 2015, the ICC did not post any neutral umpiresand it was left to both nations to appoint their umpires. If ICC eventuallyappoints neutral officials for this series, then it would be an endorsementfrom the world body that Pakistan is a safe country for a cricket series.
