British Home Secretary holds important meeting with PM Khan

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan expressing satisfaction on thecurrent direction of bilateral relations between Pakistan and the UnitedKingdom on Monday hoped that the two countries would further strengthenthem into a multi-faceted strategic partnership.The prime minister was talking to British Home Secretary Sajid Javid whopaid a courtesy call on him here.

The prime minister acknowledged the United Kingdom’s development assistancethat had positively impacted Pakistan’s socio-economic sectors.

They also discussed a wide range of issues of common interest, includingcounter terrorism, organized crime, human trafficking, money-laundering andasset recovery.

The British Home Secretary stated that his government was willing tosupport and extend full cooperation to the Government of Pakistan in theseareas. He also underscored the need to enhance cooperation in all areas ofmutual interest.

British Home Secretary Sajid Javid was on a two-day visit to Islamabad andLahore.
