KARACHI – CCTV footage has surfaced in connection with the death of seniorjournalist *Khawar Hussain*, whose body was recently recovered in Karachi.Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Shaheed Benazirabad, *Faisal Bashir Memon*,has issued a statement regarding the case.
According to DIG Memon, investigators have obtained CCTV footage, which isbeing closely examined. He noted that eyewitnesses in the area reported *nosound of gunfire* at the time of the incident.
He further stated that the *car windows were rolled up*, and no evidencewas found of anyone else being near the vehicle. Moreover, the Call DataRecord (CDR) is expected to be retrieved within 24 hours.
DIG Memon confirmed that the *pistol recovered from the vehicle belonged toKhawar Hussain himself*, which he had kept for personal protection. TheCCTV footage revealed that Hussain had parked his car and visited thewashroom twice.
The video shows him first asking the hotel manager about the washroom andthen returning to his vehicle. Shortly afterward, he stepped out again,inquiring from the security guard about the washroom before heading thereonce more. He later returned to his car and remained alone.
DIG Memon added that Hussain’s body has been shifted to a cold storagefacility in Hyderabad, while the *post-mortem report has not yet beenreceived*. The recovered pistol and vehicle have been sent for forensicexamination.
