Tarbela Dam water level reaches highest point

TARBELA – The water level at Turbela dam has reached to highest 1545.23cusecs feet here on Friday this season and within a couple of days, itsreservoirs are expected to reach its maximum conservation level of 1550cusecs feet for the first time of the current season.-

According to the Tarbaila Dam officials, today 14 number of powergeneration units were working with full capacity and were producing 3461megawatts electricity. Today, the water inflow in Tarbaila dam reservoirwas recorded 214800 cusecs feet while the outflow remained 157100 cusecsfeet.

Currently, the water level in Tarbela is 1,545.23 cusecs feet, which wasonly 5 feet less than the maximum level of 1,550 feet.

Heavy monsoon rains have also filled the Khapur dam reservoir and reached1955 cusecs feet which were at the dead level couple of weeks ago but nowthe dams administration has opened the spillways to discharge extra water.

Today water inflow in the lake Khanpur was 607.83 cusecs feet recordedwhile the outflow was 108.8 cusecs feet. After complete filling of the dam,it would be able to provide water to twin cities of Rawalpindi andIslamabad for next six months.
