MUMBAI – In A rare development, Super star Amir Khan in a recent *interview*link with the Chinese media hasopened up about his personal life like never before, sharing details on hisrelationship with wife, Kiran, how they fell for each other and hisrelationship with his ex-wife.
“I met Kiran when I was doing *Lagaan*. She was one of the ADs of the film,but at that time, we were just mere acquaintances. For me, she was just oneof the people on the unit,” Aamir said, speaking on how he first met hiswife.
“It was well after my separation and divorce when I met her again,” hecontinued. “In that moment of trauma, her phone came and I talked to her onthe phone for half an hour. And when I put the phone down, I said, ‘My God!I feel so happy when I talk to her.’ It struck me in that instant thattalking to her makes me happy.”
After that phone call, Aamir recalled that he and Kiran began dating andeven lived together for more than a year before they finally tied the knotin 2005, three years after his separation from first wife, Reena Dutta.
“I can never imagine a life without Kiran as my partner. I feel veryblessed and I am very grateful in my life… she is a wonderful person and Iam very lucky to have her in my life,” he said.
On his first wife, Reena, Aamir remarked, “She is a wonderful person aswell. Sometimes a relationship doesn’t work but I have a lot of love andrespect for her. In fact, we are currently working together on this Paaniproject. She is also the COO of the company.”
Earlier, Kiran in an interview had revealed that she had seen *Qayamat SeQayamat Tak* which starred Juhi Chawla and Aamir in the leads on the newVCR her family had purchased. She said that she loved his performance andthoroughly enjoyed the film adding that she thought that Aamir was a “verycute guy.”
She said that she never imagined in her wildest dreams that years later shewould actually date, marry and have kids with that “cute guy”.
