ISLAMABAD – British Prime Minister Theresa May called Prime Minister-electImran Khan, the chief of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
She congratulated him for being elected as Prime Minister of Pakistan aftethe July 25 election.
The British prime minister said that her government is ready to furtherstrengthen and diversify bilateral diplomatic relations between Pakistanand the United Kingdom.
“We will give our cooperation the incoming government,” she said.
Prime Minister-elect Imran Khan expressed his gratitude to the Britishprime minister for her warm wishes.
Both the leaders agreed that money laundering is a huge issue for thedeveloping economies, adding that Pakistan would desire to receiveassistance from the UK to minimise money laundering.
