Two Fitna al-Khawarij Militants gunned down by CTD in Karachi IBO

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Sindh Police neutralized two operatives of the banned militant group Fitna al-Khawarij during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Karachi, ARY News reported on Thursday.

According to a CTD spokesperson, the operation was launched near Mochko on Hub River Road after receiving credible intelligence about the presence of militants in the area. During the raid, a gun battle broke out between the security forces and the militants, resulting in the deaths of two armed suspects.

Following the clash, CTD officials recovered a suicide vest, a Kalashnikov rifle, a pistol, and explosive materials from the scene. The Bomb Disposal Squad was promptly dispatched to safely defuse the suicide vest.

The spokesperson confirmed that the militants were linked to the proscribed group Fitna al-Khawarij, and that the operation was based on targeted intelligence about their movement.

In a separate incident earlier this year, the Sindh CTD arrested a suspected terrorist affiliated with the outlawed Zainabiyun Brigade. The suspect, identified as Syed Muhammad Moosa Rizvi alias Kamran—son of Syed Nafees Abbas Rizvi—was taken into custody during a raid in the Soldier Bazar area. According to CTD, Rizvi had gone into hiding due to his active involvement in terrorist activities and fear of arrest.
