General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) presided over the 258thCorps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) held at the General Head Quarters (GHQ)in Rawalpindi on Monday.
The Corps Commanders Conference paid rich tribute to the supreme sacrificespersistently being offered by the valiant soldiers in the defence of theirmotherland against the threat of terrorism.
According to the media wing of the Pak Army, the Inter-Services PublicRelations (ISPR), the participants of the conference were briefed in detailabout the prevailing Internal Security environment.
The sanctuaries and liberty of action available to the terrorists ofproscribed TTP and other groups of that ilk in a neighbouring country andthe availability of the latest weapons to the terrorists were noted asmajor reasons impacting the security of Pakistan.
The forum deliberated in detail upon the operational preparedness andtraining aspects of the army.COAS said, “Objective training remains the hallmark of our professionalismand we must always remain prepared to guard against any threat to ournational security.“
The forum was also apprised about the Government’s economic revival planand the role of the Army in uplifting agriculture, IT, mining & mineral anddefence production sectors under the ambit of the Special InvestmentFacilitation Council (SIFC).
The participants vowed to fully support the strategic initiatives plannedby the Government of Pakistan for the revival of the economy by providingall possible technical and management support for the overall good of thepeople of Pakistan.
