RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir presidedover the 258th Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) held at GHQ on Monday,according to the military’s media wing.
The forum paid rich tribute to the supreme sacrifices persistently beingoffered by the valiant soldiers in the defence of their motherland againstthe threat of terrorism, a statement by Inter Services Public Relations(ISPR) said.
The participants were briefed in detail about the prevailing internalsecurity environment. “The sanctuaries and liberty of action available tothe terrorists of proscribed TTP and other groups of that ilk in aneighboring country and availability of latest weapons to the terroristswere noted as major reasons impacting security of Pakistan,” the statementadded.
The forum deliberated in detail upon the operational preparedness andtraining aspects of the army.

COAS Asim said, “Objective training remains the hallmark of ourprofessionalism and we must always remain prepared to guard against anythreat to our national security.”
The forum was also apprised about the Government’s economic revival planand role of Army in uplifting agriculture, IT, mining & mineral and defenceproduction sectors under the ambit of Special Investment FacilitationCouncil (SIFC).
