Accountability Court verdict in money laundering case against Shahbaz Sharif and son Hamza Shehbaz

An accountability court (AC) in Lahore on Monday reserved its verdict onthe acquittal petitions filed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his sonHamza Shehbaz in a money laundering and assets beyond sources of incomecase.

The court said it would pronounce the decision on July 20.AC judge QamaruzZaman heard the petitions. While Amjad Pervaiz, representing both fatherand the son, gave arguments in the case.

A few hours ago, 24News reported that an accountability court (AC) inLahore had accepted the defendants’, the prime minister, Hamza and others,petition seeking early hearing of their acquittal pleas.

AC judge Qamaruz Zaman directed the petitioners’ lawyers to give argumentstoday.

In their pleas, the prime minister and his son Hamza Shehbaz had contendedthat the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had filed a false and a fakecase against them, and that their assets were well within their sources ofincome.
