PCB approves next year hefty budget

LAHORE – Pakistan Cricket Board has approved its budget for the next fiscalyear, increasing amounts for development of infrastructure and the domesticcricket.

According to the statement by the PCB, its Board of Governors met for its49th meeting in Lahore to approve the budget.

PCB has budgeted to spend Rs916.36 million on domestic cricket, which is 89per cent more than the previous year.

The budgeted expense on cricket development, talent hunt, academiesprogrammes is estimated at PKR1 billion which is 52 percent higher thanprevious year.

An estimated PKR2.66 billion has been allocated to building cricket-relatedinfrastructure mainly comprising stadiums in Rawalpindi, Karachi andMultan, and also for cricket academies in Lahore, Multan and Karachi.

The BoG also noted satisfactory shift towards enhancing revenue generatingactivities and development of cricket-related facilities and infrastructure.

The PCB’s Board of Governors also approved nomination of Mansoor MasoodKhan as Alternate Director to the ICC.

Khan will represent the PCB chairman in case of his absence at the ICCboard meetings.
