LONDON – In an impressive show of batting, Bangladesh comprehensivelydefeated West Indies by seven wickets with 7.3 overs to spare.
Chasing a mammoth target of 322, Bangladesh openers Tamim and Sarkarstarted confidently. They raced to 52 in no time.
Sarkar departed after scoring brisk 29. Shakib arrived and took the drivingseat as he hit West Indian bowlers all-over the ground. There was a briefcollapse in Bangladesh’s innings when Tamim and Rahim aka Mr. Reliabledeparted within span of 12 runs.
However, Liton ensured that there was no more sloppy moment as he went onto scored 94 runs. Shakib made 124 runs as he became top scorer of the megaevent.
Both batsmen remained unbeaten.
Earlier today, Bangladesh fought back against West Indies after Shai Hope’s96 had put Caribbean side on course of a big total.

Being sent into batting first, West Indies were troubling at 8-1 after fiveovers. But Lewis and Hope avoided another collapse and added 116 runs forthe second wicket. Lewis departed first on the individual score of 70 runs.
Hetmyer also hit a brisk 50 on just 26 balls. His innings included fourboundaries and three maximums. Just when 350 plus looked inevitable,Bangladesh fought back with quick wickets in regular intervals.
