ISLAMABAD – Advisor to the Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik AminAslam said 30 percent of the vehicle system in the country will beconverted to electric cars by the year 2030.
Addressing a news conference, he said Electrical Vehicle Policy to thiseffect will be devised within fifteen days under the direction of PrimeMinister Imran Khan.
The Advisor said this step will prove to be helpful in bringing significantreduction in the import of oil. He said the electric vehicles will alsoimprove the environment and help deal with the challenge of smog.
He said the government is focused on making Pakistan an exporter ofelectric vehicles within the period of five years. He said vehicleexamination system is also being introduced in the transport sector tocheck condition of vehicles.
To a question, Malik Amin Aslam said 10 billion tree tsunami is the projectof Pakistan’s bright future. He said the project is also receivingappreciation by the world’s big institutions.
