SWAT: (APP) Buddhism attraction in Swat, Pakistan

A delegation of Buddhist from Bhutan visited Swat district and performed their religious rituals at various worship places.

The delegation comprising four women and nine men also visited various Buddhist remains in the district. The delegation performed religious rituals at Gulkada and Saidu Sharif Stupa.

Later, they went to the statue of Mahatma Buddha.

In their brief interaction with the local media, the head of the delegation Sewang Pengor said, they were delighted to visit the Swat valley and happy to perform their worship at the holy places in a free manner.

“We are thankful to the people and Government of Pakistan for preservations of their centuries old holy places. We will go back with a message of peace and friendship,” he added.

Director Department of Archives District Swat Faizur Rehman said that there were number of archaeological sites of various religions in the district.

The tourism in Swat would flourish with the arrival of such delegations.  He gave useful information to the members of the delegation about the archaeological sites in the district.
