On Wednesday, the Inter-Services Press Relations (ISPR) announced thatsecurity forces had thwarted an attempt by seven terrorists to infiltratethe Pakistan-Afghanistan border. The operation took place in Spinkai,Ghulam Khan, North Waziristan District, on April 16, 2024. Upon detectingthe movement of the terrorist group, security forces swiftly surroundedthem.
After engaging in a fierce firefight, the security forces successfullyneutralized all seven terrorists. Subsequently, a significant cache ofweapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from the militants. Thisoperation marks another instance of the ongoing efforts by Pakistanisecurity forces to combat terrorism along the border.
The ISPR reiterated Pakistan’s call for effective border management by theInterim Afghan Government to prevent terrorist activities originating fromAfghan soil.
The statement urged Afghanistan to fulfill its obligations in denyingterrorists the use of its territory to launch attacks against Pakistan.
Emphasizing the commitment of Pakistan’s security forces, the ISPR affirmedtheir dedication to securing the nation’s borders and eradicating thethreat of terrorism within the country. This operation follows a previousintelligence-based operation on April 7, where security forces eliminatedtwo terrorists in North Waziristan District.
