ISLAMABAD: Sohail Mahmood has taken charge of his new responsibilities asForeign Secretary on Wednesday.
Sohail Mahmood also met Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Islamabadafter assuming the charge of his office.
On the occasion, FM Qureshi congratulated the newly appointed foreignsecretary on assuming charge and said Mahmood is a seasoned and experienceddiplomat.
Mahmood in his remarks said that he will make the utmost efforts to performhis duties to the best of his capabilities.

During the meeting, the two discussed the different contours of foreignpolicy.
Mahmood who previously served as Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Indiareplaces Tehmina Janjua, who retired on April 16 after serving in theposition for two years.
