PSL Spot Fixing Scandal main characters exposed

LAHORE: The Pakistan Super League spot fixing scandal is getting cleared with every passing day.

Shahzaib Hasan and Nasir Jamshed are believed to be the central characters of the latest spot-fixing scandal engulfing Pakistan’s cricket.

In a major crackdown, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has suspended Sharjeel Khan, Khalif Latif, Mohammad Irfan, Nasir Jamshed and Shahzaib Hasan and launched investigations into their alleged contacts with a syndicate of bookies.

According to a source privy to the PCB’s investigations, Shahzeb Hassan and Nasir Jamshed are the main characters of the spot-fixing case.

The two players persuaded Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif to meet bookies and indulge in spot-fixing.

Sources add that Mohammad Irfan, Sharjeel Khan and Khalif Latif, who were grilled by the anti-corruption unit of the PCB, accused Shahzeb Hassan of introducing them to bookies.

Shahzaib Hassan, on the other hand, pleaded innocence and dubbed the trio as corrupt.

Shahzaib Hassan gave 10 different answers to each question asked by the anti-corruption unit, added sources.

Evidence collected by the anti-corruption unit showed that both Nasir Jamshed and Shahzaib had been in regular contacts with each other and bookies.
