PIA unveils plan to expand its network

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) intends to expand its network inAfghanistan by increasing its air cargo business, for which its ChiefExecutive Officer (CEO), Air Marshal (retd.) Arshad Malik, made an officialvisit to Kabul on Tuesday.——————————

The CEO spoke with Afghan government officials including the Aviation Head,Dr. Qasim Wafaizada, and discussed avenues for increasing air links betweenPakistan and Afghanistan.

As per reports, the airline has requested flights to and from Kandahar andMazar Shareef and is exploring avenues to increase its air cargo operations.——————————

The PIA CEO met with the officials of the Afghan Chamber of Commerce andIndustry. He also visited the Pakistani Embassy in Kabul and met with thePakistani Ambassador, Mansoor Ahmed, the Consul General, and otherofficials of the Pakistani Embassy.

He also requested a swift guaranteed visa for Afghans traveling to Pakistanvia PIA.
