*ISLAMABAD – **Islamabad High Court announces verdict in petition seekingsuspension of Islamabad Mayor Sheikh Ansar Aziz.*
*The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday stopped the federal governmentfrom implementation on a reference, seeking suspension of Islamabad MayorSheikh Ansar Aziz till February 21.*
It is pertinent to mention here that the reference was filed against AnsarAziz by the Local Government Commission for allegedly a number of charges.
During the hearing, the court has issued notices to interior secretary, AliNawaz, and the secretary of the Local Government Commission. Aziz’s counselargued that the reference of suspension of his client as the mayor of thecapital was unconstitutional.

The court was also pleaded to restrain Special Assistant on CapitalDevelopment Authority (CDA) Affairs MNA Ali Nawaz Awan from working as theIslamabad mayor.
