NEW DELHI – Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday asserted that he wasfilled with grief and outrage, just like the people of the country, in thewake of the terrorist attack in Pulwama which claimed the lives of 40 CRPFpersonnel.
In Bihar’s Barauni to launch a number of development projects, Modi beganhis speech with a few lines in the local dialect ‘Angika’ before payingtributes to two of the slain jawans who hailed from the state.
“I salute and pay my tributes to Sanjay Kumar Sinha and Ratan KumarThakur,” the prime minister said. The two martyred CRPF personnel hailedfrom Patna and Bhagalpur districts, respectively.
“I condole the bereaved families. And to the large number of people whohave gathered here, I would like to say the fire that is raging in yourbosoms, is in my heart as well,” Modi said, evoking a thunderous responsefrom the crowd.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi alsoexpressed hopes of a strong response from India in the wake of the Pulwamaattack.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday said that “thesacrifice made by 40 CRPF in recent Pulwama attack will not go in vain”adding “the army has been given a free hand to punish the perpetrators.”
