Days after over 40 CRPF soldiers were killed in a terror attack in Jammuand Kashmir’s Pulwama district, reports of Kashmiri people being targetedhave emerged from different parts of the country, prompting the centralgovernment to issue an advisory to the states to ensure their safety. Ashutdown has been called in Kashmir against the reported cases ofharassment.

“Therefore, the MHA today issued an advisory to all states and UTs to takenecessary measures to ensure their safety and security,” he added.

In Bihar’s capital Patna, Kashmiri traders told NDTV they were attacked bya mob.
“A number of men wielding sticks, gathered outside my shop. They raisedslogans. I didn’t even know about Pulwamalinkthen. But they destroyed the goods and beat me and the workers,” BashirAhmed, a trader from Kashmir, told NDTV.
“I am working in Patna for the past 35 years and never faced any problem ordiscrimination. I live here for 6 months every year and like Patna betterthan Kashmir. I have nothing to do with politics. I am often so busy that Idon’t get a chance to catch up on news,” he added.
A village panchayat in Punjab’s Ambala has reportedly asked villagers toevict Kashmiri students living in rented accommodation within 24 hours.
