Why PCB is looking for venues outside Pakistan to hold future edition of PSL

LAHORE – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Najam Sethi has said thatthe board is considering alternative venues for the future editions ofPakistan Super League (PSL) and other home matches.

During an interview to a television channel, the chairman said thatMalaysia may serve as Pakistan’s adopted home venue in the future. Sethiadded that he is visiting Malaysia for this purpose in the first week ofMarch.

Sethi further said that he is leaving for Malaysia to see their grounds.“If the needed arrangements are agreed upon, having Malaysia [as our homevenue] would cut our costs in half,” said the PCB chairman.

He elaborated that it may get increasingly difficult for the PCB to holdmatches in the UAE if the country starts hosting other league matches aswell.

Sethi further said that all the PSL franchises have paid their dues to thePCB, while one or two franchises have yet to pay the remaining half of thefees to their players.
