LAHORE – In a surprise, Pakistani veteran all rounder Mohammad Hafeezannounced retirement date from international cricket.

Pakistan veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has on Friday announcedretirement from international cricket after the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup2020 scheduled in Australia.

The 39-year-old held a media talk at the Patron’s Enclosure of the GaddafiStadium Lahore (GSL) on Friday (today) and expressed joy over his selectionfor the Bangladesh T20Is. He affirmed that he wants to play the world cupon merit.

“I will try to prove the selection committee’s decision right regarding mycomeback in the team by performing against Bangladesh. Winning alwaysmotivates the captain and the players.

“I am satisfied with my performance at the moment. I have been playing forPakistan as a batsman for 17 years and am ready for another bowling test. Iam planning to work with the youngsters.”

It is pertinent here to mention that Mohammad Hafeez was dropped from thenational squad following a disappointing performance in the 50-over ICCCricket World Cup 2019, and was recalled on Thursday for the upcoming T20Ihome series against Bangladesh.
