Chinese Foreign Office Spokesperson responds over the media questions of the Occupied Kashmir conflict

ISLAMABAD – China has expressed its consistent and clear support on Kashmirissue.

Spokesperson of Chinese foreign ministry in weekly briefing in Beijing onFriday said Kashmir issue is dispute left from history and should beproperly resolved following the UN Charter, through relevant UNSCresolutions and bilateral treaties and in a peaceful way.

The spokesperson said the UNSC members at their meeting on Wednesday wereconcerned about the current situation in Kashmir and called on relevantparties to observe the UN Charter, International law, and resolve thedispute peacefully.

The Spokesperson said the issue between India and Pakistan has always beenon the UNSC agenda, and the UNSC should pay attention to situation inKashmir based on the latest developments to help de-escalate tension andproper settlement.

The spokesperson said as the permanent member of the UNSC, China willcontinue to play a constructive role in upholding regional peace andstability and the Indian side should think about it and respond the requestfrom the UNSC members.
