Pak, Afghanistan to strengthen contacts, advance reconciliation process: FM

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has termed his visit to Kabul very advantageous saying that the clouds of fear have faded away.

Talking to a private news channel, he said both the countries have decided to strengthen contacts and advance the reconciliation process.

Qureshi said he finalized few things during his meetings with the Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah and Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani.

He said Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah will visit Pakistan next month.

He said the Afghan Economic Commission will be visiting Pakistan next month and the next round of talks between the two countries would also be held in October.

The Foreign Minister said Pakistan and Afghanistan will have to constitute a joint commission if the two countries have to extend their economic ties.

He said our challenges are identical and we have to deal with them through mutual cooperation.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi proposed that a meeting between scholars from both sides could be arranged to resolve the issues.
