In response to the unfolding humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Pakistan has taken the decision to swiftly send humanitarian relief aid to Gaza. This action is aimed at alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian population, as reported by ARY News on Monday.
The Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson issued a statement acknowledging the dire situation in Gaza, where the people have been enduring indiscriminate Israeli aggression and a prolonged siege.
The densely-populated Gaza Strip, already struggling with oppression, is in urgent need of humanitarian assistance. Pakistan has made the commitment to provide such assistance, expressing its solidarity with the Palestinians during these challenging times.
The government of Pakistan is actively coordinating with various organizations and nations, including the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, relevant UN agencies, the Egyptian government, and Pakistan's diplomatic missions worldwide. This coordination is essential for finalizing the logistical details of delivering the humanitarian aid.
The conflict in the region has escalated significantly, with Israel declaring war on Hamas after their fighters breached the heavily fortified border and caused the loss of over 1,400 lives. In response, Israel has initiated relentless airstrikes, resulting in the deaths of at least 2,670 people, the majority of whom are ordinary Palestinians living in the blockaded and impoverished Gaza Strip.
Earlier in the day, Pakistan's Caretaker Prime Minister, Anwaarul Haq Kakar, made a public call for an immediate ceasefire and the lifting of the blockade in Gaza. The caretaker prime minister used a social media platform, formerly known as Twitter, to express Pakistan's unwavering support and solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine.
