Film producer Jemima Goldsmith has issued an appeal to support the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) as the death toll from Israeli airstrikes in Gaza reached a devastating 2,670 on Sunday. She shared this message on X, formerly known as Twitter, conveying the words of Unicef spokesperson James Elder.
Jemima Goldsmith expressed her solidarity with those affected on both sides of the Israel-Palestine conflict, emphasizing the tragic toll on children with hundreds losing their lives and suffering injuries in Gaza.
She called for an end to the killing of children and highlighted the dire situation in hospitals struggling to care for wounded children with severe burns, injuries, and lost limbs. She also urged the safe and immediate reunification of Israeli children held in Gaza with their families.
Additionally, it was reported that Israel had blocked access to essential resources such as water, food, and electricity in Gaza, though they claimed that water supply had been partially restored in the southern part of the Palestinian enclave on Sunday.
