Trump says US cutting troops in Germany over NATO spending

ISLAMABAD-US President Donald Trump says he would cut the number of American troops in Germany, as Berlin is delinquent in contributions to NATO and treats Washington badly on trade.

Talking to reporters in Washington, he said there are 52,000 US soldiers stationed in Germany and he will bring this to 25,000.

US troops have been stationed in Germany since the end of World War II, forming the bulk of NATO's conventional defense against Soviet Union during Cold War.
