Pakistan pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi has made a century of wickets in 26 Test matches.The star pacer hit the 100-wicket mark by dismissing Nishan Madhushka in the second over of the first Test of the two-match series against Sri Lanka in Galle.

Shaheen Afridi has become the 19th player of the Green Shirts to have recorded a century of wickets in red ball cricket.

The pace spearhead had moved to 99 wickets in 25 Tests at the same venue last year when a knee injury put him out of action.

He officially made a comeback to Test cricket on Sunday, when he opened the bowling for the Green Shirts on the day one of the first Test at the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25.

“I am very excited to be making my Test comeback in the country where I was injured,” he had said before bowling at the two-day warm-up fixture against the hosts at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium.

It is to be noted here that Pakistan and Sri Lanka are playing the first match of the two-match Test series in Galle.
