KABUL: In Afghanistan, at least thirty six insurgents have been killed and ten others wounded during an Afghan security forces’ airstrike in northern Kunduz province.
Police chief, Abdul Baqi Noristani said today that several Taliban hideouts were targeted in Chardara district during Afghan air strikes and ground operations.
Noristani did not give details about civilian or security forces casualties.
Taliban has not commented about the operation.
Meanwhile, at least five people were killed in an apparent suicide attack close to a government ministry in Kabul today.
A police spokesman said the explosion was believed to have been caused by a suicide attacker but had no further details.
