Washington: Pakistan FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi reveals positive development in US and Afghanistan peace talks. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that there are positive developments related to US and Afghanistan peace process.
In a video statement, FM said that Pakistan has only desired for peace and stability in Afghanistan.
“The talks between US and Afghanistan had been continuing for some time. We have always wanted peace in the region. Afghan Taliban has expressed willingness for reduction in violence. We believe that Afghanistan and the region need peace and stability,” he said.
The foreign minister said that Pakistan has considerably fulfilled its responsibility regarding the Afghan peace process.
Earlier, while briefing the Secretary General on the deteriorating situation in Indian occupied Kashmir, Shah Mehmood said that eight million Kashmiris are under stringent curfew, lockdown and communications blackout for over 150 days.
He added that UN has also reported on the gross human rights violations in occupied Kashmir which includes the excessive use of force, tear gas, rubber bullets and killings.
