Maldives seize $6.5 million from former President over corruption charges

ISLAMABAD - In Maldives, former president Abdulla Yameen is under investigation for corruption after a court ordered accounts holding 6.5 million dollars to be frozen.

Yameen who was defeated in a September election was interviewed for allegations that he received 1.5 million dollars in illicit payments during his failed bid for re-election in Indian Ocean archipelago nation.
