Pakistani legend Waqar Younis advised fast bowler Shahin Shah Afridi tolearn from the Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah if he wants to make animpact in the World Cup. Shahin has been struggling with his pace andfitness, and despite his efforts, he has taken only 4 wickets in threeWorld Cup matches.
While speaking as a commentator in India, Waqar Younis stated that he’s notsure if there is an issue with Shahin’s fitness, but there is a lack ofdiscipline in his bowling, and he is striving to take wickets.
He emphasized that when you keep doing the same thing repeatedly, as Shahinhas been doing with his yorkers, batsmen figure it out, and they getprepared for it.
Waqar recommended that Shahin should follow the established example set byBumrah, whom he referred to as a “top bowler.” He mentioned that Bumrah hasbeen creating pressure and consistently hitting the stumps, which has beeneffective against Pakistan.

Waqar also commented on Pakistan’s bowling in the World Cup, stating thatthere is a “lack of rhythm and control.”
He doesn’t believe it’s solely due to one bowler’s deficiency but alsopointed out that Naseem Shah, who was Shahin’s bowling partner, is nolonger there to maintain pressure.
