Pakistan government is going for second lockdown across the country?

Amid ‘unmistakable signs of the resurgence of coronavirus’ in Pakistan, thegovernment is mulling over options to re-impose restrictions to curb thespread.

Minister for Planning Development, Asad Umar, who also oversees thegovernment’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic, said this in a series oftweets on Thursday.——————————

He urged masses to take precautionary measures such as face masks andsocial distancing to avoid contracting the virus.

The minister warned of another lockdown if cases continue to rise.

We may have to take restrictive actions which have negative effects onpeople’s livelihoods.

Asad Umar also revealed that the positivity rate in the last 24 hours wasat 2.37 percent, the highest in more than 50 days.
