ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has lodged a strong protest with India over its recentceasefire violations on the line of control which resulted in the martyrdomof three civilians and serious injuries to eight others in Nezapir Sectoron Tuesday, Radio Pakistan reported.
Director General South Asia & SAARC Mohammad Faisal summoned the IndianDeputy High Commissioner Gaurav Ahluwalia and condemned the unprovokedceasefire violations by the Indian occupation forces.
Mohammad Faisal urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 Ceasefirearrangement and maintain peace on the LoC and the Working Boundary.
He urged that the Indian side should permit UNMOGIP to play its mandatedrole as per the UN Security Council resolutions.
He said the Indian occupation forces have continuously been targetingcivilian populated areas with artillery fire, heavy-caliber mortars, andautomatic weapons along the line of control and the working boundary. Thedeliberate targeting of civilian populated areas is indeed deplorable andcontrary to human dignity, international human rights and humanitarian laws.
