Pakistan elected for the top OIC body

CAIRO – Pakistan was elected as Member to the OIC Water Council for twoyears tenure, 2019-2020, during the fourth Session of ‘Conference of theOIC Ministers for Water’ held at Cairo on 15 October.

Pakistan was also elected as Vice Chairman to the Islamic Conference ofMinisters Responsible for Water (ICMW) Bureau.

The Conference called upon the Member States and their ResearchInstitutions to share their respective experiences in the field of waterresource management and also encouraged other OIC Organs such as the IDB topromote cooperation with the Member States.

The participating delegates pointed out the various challenges facing theircountries and the measures taken to address those challenges and theirexpectations from effective and expeditious implementation of the OIC WaterVision.
