Pakistan’s interim Foreign Minister, Jalil Abbas Jilani, has confirmed theupcoming official visit of Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman,who is set to make a forthcoming trip to South Asia.
Jilani made this announcement during his address at the Youth MinistersConference of the Commonwealth of Nations, confirming the impending visitof the de facto ruler of Saudi Arabia.
MBS is expected to meet with Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar,Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, and other high-ranking officials.
Initially, the Saudi Crown Prince was scheduled to visit Pakistan in earlySeptember, but he skipped the expected stopover in Islamabad as heconcluded his three-day visit to India following the G-20 summit.
Foreign Minister Jilani also commented on the strained relations betweenIslamabad and India, expressing hope for an amicable resolution of theirissues. Historically, Islamabad and Riyadh have maintained close andfriendly relations deeply rooted in religious, economic, and geopoliticalfactors.
Both countries, predominantly Muslim, share a strong bond through Islam.Economic cooperation has played a significant role in their relationship,with Saudi Arabia being a major source of financial assistance andinvestment in South Asian nations.
Additionally, both nations have supported each other diplomatically, withPakistan focusing on the Kashmir issue and Saudi Arabia addressing regionalsecurity concerns.
