Misbah ul Huq and Mohammad Hafeez fail to convince PM Imran Khan

Islamabad: Misbah-ul-Haq, Azhar Ali, and Mohammad Hafeez have failed toconvince the nation’s Prime Minister Imran Khan to resume departmentalcricket in the country.

PM Khan seemed not in favor of departmental cricket and emphasizedAustralia’s cricket structure consists of six association teams only.

“I tried to explain Misbah and others when there is competitiveness, bestplayers emerge from that system. Australia is the most successful team inthe world cricket and produces the best cricketers just because of thesystem,” PM Khan said while talking in a broadcast deal ceremony betweenPCB and PTV.

“It was difficult to explain to them and there are glitches in every newsystem. I am confident that this system will polish Pakistan’s raw talent,”he added.

It must be noted that PCB was under immense criticism for dissolvingdepartmental cricket as it was dissolved on the special directives of PMKhan last year. Former cricketers also support the resumption ofdepartmental cricket.
